Home Visits

Doctor's bagHome visits are for the bedridden or housebound. Our doctors typically see four patients in the practice in the time it takes to do a single home visit. For this reason we ask our patients to come to the practice if at all possible.

Please note that lack of transport is not sufficient reason for a doctor to be called out. Children should usually be brought to the surgery; this is in accordance with current national guidelines. However, we can visit you at home if your condition means you simply cannot attend for an appointment here at Fairbrook. Please ring before 10:30 to arrange a visit and let us know if your condition is urgent.

You can also be visited at home by a community nurse if you are referred by your GP. You should also be visited at home by a health visitor if you have recently had a baby or if you are newly registered with a GP and have a child under five years.
